Our Story

Addiction Aid Network was founded by Noel Farmer, who has over a decade in recovery. After years of helping others on the same path, she saw the need for a single, accessible hub where individuals and families could find the help they need without frustration. Addiction Aid Network is built on the belief that recovery is possible for everyone, and with the right support, people can rebuild their lives and their futures.

Our mission is to provide hope and inspiration to both addicts and their families. We believe recovery is not only possible, it is happening every day. While we are actively expanding our services, our current focus is on building trusted, accessible resources for individuals and families facing addiction.

This site serves as a tool to support people struggling with drugs, sex, gambling, food, alcohol, and other addictions. We offer curated, up-to-date information and recovery links that can be used by anyone, no matter where they are in their journey.

We are also in the early stages of developing an AI-powered recovery app designed to connect people to the right help the moment they are ready. Our approach uses ethical AI to meet people where they are and ensure that support is accessible and respectable.

Most of the treatment centers listed on our site are located in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC, but we are committed to helping anyone in need. If you email us, we will work with you to find relevant services and available grants no matter where you are located. Many of our resources can be used both inside and outside the United States.

We also offer four named grants that honor individuals we have lost to addiction or who dedicated their lives to helping others recover. One of these grants is named in memory of our Vice Chair’s father.

In addition, we present an annual award to recognize:

  • Family members

  • Individuals in recovery

  • Sober living homes

  • Nonprofits that reflect the values of growth, resilience, and transformation

This award is also named in honor of someone who lost their life to addiction.

Please explore our resources and reach out with questions. Whether you are starting your recovery, supporting a loved one, or searching for guidance, you are not alone. We are here to walk with you and help make recovery more accessible, personalized, and human-centered.
