Detox Links

If you or a loved one have decided to quit using, a detox facility can provide a safe and supportive transition into recovery. Medical supervision is especially important for those withdrawing from benzodiazepines, opioids, and alcohol. Below, you'll find links to detox facilities across Virginia. It is important to note that some rehabs do not offer in-house detox options, and therefore require an individual to complete detox in a medically safe environment before entering.

There are two types of detox options to consider: inpatient and outpatient.

Inpatient Detox takes place in a medical setting for a specified period, typically 5 to 7 days. During this time, the individual remains under medical supervision and is not allowed to leave until they are medically cleared.

Outpatient Detox involves an individual visiting a treatment center daily to receive medication that helps manage withdrawal symptoms. They are allowed to come and go as they please, and the duration of treatment is typically longer than a month.

Listed below are options for Inpatient Detox facilities.

See our Outpatient page for alternative options.
